Compression SW Module
Within the basic version of out ImageBroker Dicom images are stored uncompressed on disk or RAID. We have developed a unique "compression module" which allows the compressed storage of images an other DICOM objects and results in a highly increased availablitiy of online accessable data.
The algorithm, we developed, allows very rapid decompression and yields a compression factor of 2 - 4. In combination with our reporting software ImageVision you are not only increasing the amount of accessable data but also reducing the network load by a factor of about 3.
If you are using a RAID and using compression there is no problem of keeping image data online for ever.
Compression can applied on offline media, like CD-R or
DVD-R, as well. This reduces the cost for offline media.
PACS-Prefetching
PACS prefetching allows the push of pre-exams related to a current one automatically to an DICOM based viewing station. This options makes very much sense, when you are using a non-ImageVision reporting station and you want to smoothen your workflow. This does not require any RIS interconnection
Security Module
If you have to restrict the access to patient data you should use the option. It allows you to specify which patient is accessable by which user group. Up to 40 different user groups can be defined. Defining access rules for each patient can be done automatically by usinf DICOM attribute "referring pysician" during import of the data or manually by the web-based userinterface.
Security module works for DICOM query/retrieve and for ImageVision and ImageWeb.
